Always. You have final say over every vendor decision. DoorKnockers recommends based on your preferences, county coverage, and the urgency of the issue — but you can override, swap, or decline any dispatch through your dashboard.

For health and safety issues (gas, water, HVAC in summer, electrical), DoorKnockers auto-dispatches from the vetted local directory immediately and notifies you at the same time — no waiting for your approval on critical issues.

After your 14-day free trial. You'll enter payment details before trial end if you want to continue — we don't charge anything until the trial closes. After 14 days, you'll be asked to subscribe to continue. If you decide not to subscribe, your account is paused — reactivate anytime without losing your data.

If you haven't added a payment method, your account is paused and you'll see a prompt to subscribe. No surprise charges. Your properties, tenants, and data are all preserved — pick back up whenever you're ready.

Yes. Tenants pay online via Stripe directly from their tenant portal. You'll be notified when a payment comes in.

No Stripe account is required to get started. DoorKnockers handles the payment flow out of the box — tenants pay through their portal and you get notified. If you prefer rent deposited directly into your own Stripe account, you can connect one from your dashboard at any time.

Signup takes about 2 minutes. Adding properties and tenant contacts takes another 10–15 minutes through the landlord dashboard. You can start before all units are entered — DoorKnockers handles what you add when you add it.

Your data is stored in an encrypted cloud database (Neon PostgreSQL). DoorKnockers does not sell, share, or use your property or tenant data for any purpose outside the platform. You own your data and can export or delete it at any time by contacting support.
